Discovery Institute’s Center for Science & Culture builds college courses in apologetics, philosophy, psychology, natural science, leadership, and worldview studies — taught by PhD faculty trained at Cambridge, Princeton, Duke, Michigan, and the University of Washington.

The CHI member rate

  • High School Dual Credit — $100/credit hour
    A standard 3-credit course is $300.
  • Undergraduate — $350/credit hour
    A standard 3-credit course is $1,050.

Credit is issued on an official Southeastern University transcript and transfers to most four-year colleges and universities.

Complete the dual-enrollment or undergraduate application for the CHI university partner. High school students apply as Dual Enrollment students.

High school students: the CHI team submits your registration. Undergraduates: complete advising and register through the standard undergraduate process. Register well before the deadline to reserve seats.

Who is this program for?

High school students seeking dual credit and undergraduates looking for substantive courses with strong Christian worldview integration.

Are these courses asynchronous?

Yes — all Discovery Institute courses are fully asynchronous, 8-week terms. Students complete coursework on their own schedule within the term window.

Can students take individual courses, or full programs?

Both. Students may take courses à la carte for credit, or build a broader pathway through the catalog.

How many courses are available?

Twelve courses are available now, with 20+ in development, spanning theology, philosophy, psychology, natural science, leadership, and worldview studies.

What is the registration deadline?

Registration opens April 1. Fall A applications close August 7, 2026. Fall B applications close October 14, 2026. Early registration is strongly recommended.

When are the courses offered?

Courses run in two 8-week terms each fall — Fall A (begins August 26, 2026) and Fall B (begins October 21, 2026).

Who handles registration for high school students?

For high school dual-enrollment students, the CHI team submits the registration request once the student has joined a Hall, added tutorials, and completed the SEU dual-enrollment application.

Who handles registration for undergraduate students?

Undergraduate CHI members follow the normal university advising and registration pathway — completing advising and course registration through the standard undergraduate process.

What should high school students select on the SEU application?

High school students should apply as a Dual Enrollment student on the Southeastern University application.

Will these credits transfer?

Yes — credits are issued on an official university transcript by the CHI partner accrediting institution and transfer to most four-year colleges and universities.
