Students enroll in POLS 1013 — Introduction to U.S. Government, a 3-credit, 8-week Southeastern University course.
A Christian, constitutional emphasis
The course explores the American system of government, the Constitution, the founding documents, the biblical view of government, citizenship, and the preservation of freedom.
Prepare before the graded term
Students obtain the Patriot Academy course early, study through the first half of the semester, then complete the graded SEU coursework in Fall B.

Tuition is $100 per credit hour — a standard 3-credit course is $300.

A comprehensive exploration of the American system of government — founding principles, constitutional order, citizenship, freedom, and the biblical view of government — with attention to the durability of the constitutional system and the citizen's role in preserving liberty. Study at your own pace during Fall A
Work through the Patriot Academy content on your own schedule (roughly August through mid-October). There is no grade attached to this phase.
Complete the graded SEU course in Fall B
From October 21, submit graded work through Southeastern University — two major assessments and a final exam. This is the official course of record.
Is this a real college-credit course?
Yes. Students earn credit through POLS 1013 — Introduction to U.S. Government, a 3-credit, 8-week Southeastern University course. The graded SEU coursework is the official course of record.
Is the Patriot Academy course the same thing as the SEU course?
No. Patriot Academy's "A Republic… If You Can Keep It!" is the learning foundation; the graded SEU course (POLS 1013) is the course of record that determines the transcript grade.
When should students get the Patriot Academy course?
At the beginning of the semester. Students study the Patriot Academy content at their own pace during Fall A, then complete the graded SEU coursework in Fall B.
What kinds of assignments will students complete?
During the graded Fall B term, students submit work through Southeastern University — two major assessments and a final exam.
What topics does the course cover?
The Constitution and the Bill of Rights, America's founding documents, biblical principles of government, federalism and checks and balances, citizenship and political responsibility, and political parties and electoral behavior.
Do students need to join Christian Halls first?
Yes. Students complete their Christian Halls setup — a MyHall profile and a local Hall or the Virtual Hall — and the SEU dual-enrollment application; Christian Halls then submits the registration request.
What should students select on the SEU application?
High school students should apply as a Dual Enrollment student.
Will these credits transfer?
Yes — POLS 1013 is issued on an official Southeastern University transcript and transfers to most four-year institutions.
